It's extremely overextended to the EMA8. When stocks like this are making a run, what exactly are we looking for intraday to tell us the run has stopped? Or at this point are we mostly watching on the D1?
My gut tells me that in such situations to sell near the HOD today (we approached $15 twice) and expect a pullback to the EMA8? Or do we let it ride... until when?

The reason you were sweating/nervous very likely had to do with the fact that you entered the stock at the LOD on what mentally feels very overextended. On top of that, you're trading against a strong longer term market uptrend where buyers have aggressively bought dips. I suspect that you maybe haven't entered many setups that look like this, and if so, it's understandable to be nervous in smth like this.
Right after you exited, the stock put in a nice long green at 1:40. No matter how strong a trend is, you're going to have to deal with those long contra candles. In any powerful trend, the odds of a long candle like that being a solo are fairly high. The key thing to do is not panic, wait to see how it closes, and see what happens next. Looking at 1:40, you can see a long wick above the body. You very likely had a lot of short covering happening, some "dip buying", only for sellers to come back in and smack it back down. If buyers/short covering were incredibly aggressive, that candle would have closed near its high. The next candle had a similar long wick above it, and within four candles, that scary looking long green candle was completely reversed.
So if you were still in when 1:40 came about, you wait for the candle to close and do not panic exit. Then, you wait to see what happens. If there's instant follow through, then yes, it's likely legit and you probably want to get out. Otherwise--wait to see if it reverses (like it did in this case). The faster it reverses, the more aggressive you know that sellers are and that's a form of confirmation.
@Cloud: So in short, not being able to lean on the daily, since it's extended, made me sweat this trade. I've chosen that chart since I've seen others taking extended charts when it was for daytrades only. Wa... View
